What's it like to be in a session with me?  Different!

I believe passionately about the mind-body approach to healing.  It's what I do.

Our sessions won't be your typical talk therapy. I will interrupt (nicely, I promise) and ask you to pause often to notice sensations in your body. I will teach you tools to be able to calm your body and release painful patterns. We will also probably laugh, because healing doesn't mean it has to always be painful.

If you are looking for just talk therapy then we won't be a good fit. If you want to explore the mind body connection, then we have work to do!

In my own journey, I struggled with addiction and have been sober for many years. I know how hard it can be to get sober. I also understand the emotional bottom that people in recovery often hit. It was through my own pain that I found Somatic Experiencing. This body- based modality helped me heal at a very deep level. It was after my own healing experience I decided to train and become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

In my personal life I am a mom, an artist, and a proud member of the LGBTQ community. When I am not with my family or at my office, you will find me in my art studio.

I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology, am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner,  and have an additional certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. I am also trained in Brainspotting and TRM (more body based healing methods for trauma). I have worked extensively in substance abuse treatment as a Primary Therapist and as a Trauma Specialist. I have been working with trauma and addiction since 2011.
